About Event

A reflection on what design has been, how it is changing, and what it must carry forward.

Design is changing. Its tools are more accessible, more roles shape design outcomes, and designers are working across wider organisational, strategic and technological contexts.

But design is more than its tools or outputs. Its value also lies in how it observes, interprets context, exercises judgement and considers consequences.

EPC Design Dialogues brings designers, leaders and those who work alongside design together to examine this shift through three connected conversations.

The Programme

09:30-10:00
Arrival and introduction to EPC Design Dialogues

10:00-10:45 • Panel Discussion
The Evolving Value of the Designer

When execution becomes faster and more accessible, where does the designer’s value move?

A panel examining what organisations now expect from designers, which contributions are becoming more important, and what growing designers should understand about the professional reality ahead.

Speakers to be announced soon.

11:00-11:45 • Panel Discussion
The Evolving Relationship Between Designers and Non-Designers

How is the relationship changing when more people can shape design outcomes?

A panel reflecting on how expertise, critique, trust, authorship and decision-making are changing—and how broader participation can strengthen design without diminishing its deeper capabilities.

Speakers to be announced soon.

12:00-13:00 • Participatory Discussion
The Evolving Responsibility of Design

As design’s influence expands, what must it become more responsible for?

A participatory discussion with design leaders and everyone in the room. Together, we will examine what design is accountable for across the behaviours, systems, cultures and futures it helps shape.

Participating design leaders to be announced soon.
