About Event

Join us for a Gender Justice Networking Session, a global gathering for activists, nonprofit leaders, and changemakers advancing gender justice and women’s rights around the world.

Expect to:
🌱 Hear powerful stories from people advancing gender justice.
🌱 Spark meaningful conversations and leave with new connections among activists, nonprofit leaders, and changemakers.

About the Session:

✨ It will begin with an inspiration moment, where three speakers working on gender justice will share short reflections on their work, impact, and the realities of organizing for change in their contexts. Their stories will offer a glimpse into the diverse ways people are advancing gender justice across communities.

👥 From there, we’ll open space for guided networking, giving participants the chance to meet others working in or interested in gender justice, exchange experiences, and build meaningful connections. Through small-group conversations, you’ll have space to share your work, learn from others, and discover potential collaborations.

At a time when many communities are facing a rollback of gender and LGBTQ rights, creating spaces for solidarity, learning, and connection matters more than ever. This session is an opportunity to come together, strengthen our networks, and connect with people committed to advancing gender justice. ✊

🎙️ Meet the Speakers:

Andy Maxwell is a Kenyan intersex advocate, artist, and community organizer championing Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights and the rights of intersex, transgender, gender non-conforming (ITGNC), and LBQ communities. They are the Founder and Executive Director of Q We Rise Network, a youth-led organization empowering marginalized communities through advocacy, creative expression, psychosocial support, and economic empowerment. Through storytelling, art, and grassroots organizing, Andy works to raise awareness about the stigma and barriers intersex and gender-diverse people face in accessing healthcare, education, and livelihoods. Their work focuses on advancing bodily autonomy, policy advocacy, and creating safe spaces where young people can thrive and express themselves freely.

Beritina Mukawughanga is an intersectional feminist and movement weaver keen on building feminist futures centered in Africentrism. She is a member of COFEM where she supports research on VAWG, and the Co-Founder at Mendara Africa, a pan African feminist institute building a regenerative infrastructure needed for movements to thrive. She has also worked in LGBTQ+ organizations, particularly advancing access to justice for LGBTQ+ communities in Kenya.

Sanjukta Moorthy is a nonprofit consultant working at the intersection of monitoring, evaluation, and learning (PMEL) and justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI+).
