Waves of Light: Celebrating 1 Year of "Like a Wave We Break" & the Launch of "The Space of Light"
Join author Jane Chen and artist Janet Meinke-Lau on November 17th for an intimate evening of storytelling, art, and community at Tutu’s Place at the historic Bishop Museum.
Last year, Jane published her national bestselling memoir, Like a Wave We Break, featuring cover art created by Janet. Now, we gather to celebrate two milestones: the one-year anniversary of Jane’s book and unveiling Janet’s new watercolor collection, The Space of Light.
Together, both works reflect paths toward self-discovery, spaces for healing, and the pursuit of inner alignment.

Jane Chen is the author of "Like a Wave We Break", a memoir centering on personal transformation, self-acceptance, and love.
Janet Meinke-Lau is a Honolulu-based watercolor artist whose work is deeply influenced by the colors and memories of surfing at first light. Her newest collection, The Space of Light, explores that quiet threshold where darkness shifts to light and chaos moves into clarity.
