About Event

Quantum computing is progressing from theory to practical experimentation; but where does that transition stand today, and what does it actually take to implement a theoretically proven quantum algorithm?

In collaboration with Classiq, WISER developed and benchmarked advanced quantum algorithms for simulating coupled harmonic oscillator systems, physical models that appear across condensed matter physics, materials science, and molecular dynamics. This work was recognized as one of the Top 5 Quantum Algorithm Papers of Winter 2026 by PennyLane.

This research moves beyond theoretical discussions to explore what it takes to implement these algorithms in modern quantum design environments. Three different methods were developed and tested using the Classiq platform, each offering varying tradeoffs in circuit design, resource use, and scalability. Together, they help clarify both the technical challenges and practical considerations of bringing an abstract fault-tolerant quantum algorithm to a full end-to-end circuit implementation for physically meaningful problems.
