Attending Current SF by Confluent & IBM? If you're not registered yet, get your free conference ticket for the leading data streaming event: https://confluent.swoogo.com/currentsanfrancisco2026
Before the keynotes, we are going for a run (or walk) across the Golden Gate Bridge. It's a great way to warm up for two days of sessions and get to know the streaming community.
The plan
- Wednesday, 4 November, 7:00 am. Meet in the car park next to the Golden Gate Bridge Welcome Center (south side) for a group photo.
- Run or walk across the bridge to the other side.
- Head back the way we came, about 6 km / 3.8 miles round trip
Run it, jog it, walk it. Every pace is welcome.
Bear in mind that early mornings on the bridge can get chilly so dress accordingly.
You don't have to register to take part, but those who do will get a Lenses & Confluent runner's kit to pick up later at the conference.
Getting there Getting to and from the bridge is up to you. Uber/Lyft from downtown takes about 20 minutes, so plan to leave by around 6:30 am.
The Small Print :) This is a recreational social run/walk, not an organised race, and you take part at your own risk. By joining, registered or not, you confirm that you are in good health and able to cover about 6 km at your own pace, and that you have checked with a doctor if you have any condition that exercise might affect. You are responsible for your own pace, fluids and belongings. The bridge sidewalk is shared with cyclists and other pedestrians, so please stay aware and follow the directions of the hosts. Lenses, Confluent and our partners cannot accept responsibility for any injury, illness, loss or damage before, during or after the event.
