Bill Burns Artist Talk + Closing Reception

​Join us for the closing celebration of Between Structure and Spirit, Bill Burns' debut exhibition with Collective Z.

​The evening begins with an artist talk at 6:30 PM, in which Burns will speak directly from within the work: about the sustained practice behind these paintings, the pull between design-trained precision and the surrender that painting demands, and why he believes the studio and the world outside it are never truly separate. Questions from attendees are welcome.

​Burns' paintings work through accumulation — layer over layer of color that is at once architectural and atmospheric, luminous in some canvases, urgent in others. They do not arrive fully formed; they are discovered. Between Structure and Spirit has been an argument for painting as a form of seeking, and this closing evening is a chance to hear the artist speak to what that seeking has looked like.

​Wine will be served. Works are available for acquisition. This is the final opportunity to see the exhibition before it closes.
