The Thrum: Fire and Ice
The Thrum: Fire and Ice
A bi-monthly somatic practice session with Laura Ward
How do we move with the powers of creation and destruction? And what is happening in the middle, the abyss?
The Thrum: Fire and Ice will invite us to explore the shaping qualities of these opposing yet complementary forces and the space in-between.
This guided meditation is a somatic inquiry practice inspired by Laban/Bartenieff, sacred geometry, Continuum, micro-movement, non-dual meditation, creativity, sound vibration, vocal toning and over-toning, nature, the elements, free flow, dance, and inner space exploration. We engage in this work to regulate our bodyminds and to connect to our planet and our shared humanity.
Bring your bodymind, some water, and anything you need to be comfortable on the floor (blankets, mats, etc.) you might like to build your own nest.
This is for you if: You have some background in somatic or embodiment work and are comfortable without specific movement instruction in an open-awareness-based experience. You don't need to be a professional mover. But you should be at home enough in your body to find your own way once the door opens.
