TLT festival: Elliot Sharp

​A world premiere performance of Goshozyg by American multi-instrumentalist, composer, and performer Elliot Sharp, a tribute to the late British composer and inventor Hugh Davies. Inspired by Davies’ Shozyg instruments—experimental sound objects built inside repurposed books—Goshozyg follows this lineage by transforming the Stogar, a collection of amplified metal objects housed in a reclaimed cigar box, into a dynamic electroacoustic instrument. Raw metallic textures are performed live and expanded through real-time processing, creating shifting soundscapes that echo Davies’ spirit of invention.
