Ovidiu Eftimie is a Senior Director of Engineering at Adobe, with more than 25 years of experience building software, leading engineering teams, and operating cloud services at scale.
His work has spanned analytics, digital experience platforms, and video services, including Adobe’s TV Everywhere solution, which received a Primetime Emmy Engineering Award.
Alongside his leadership role, Ovidiu builds and experiments with AI development tools. His hands-on work informs his perspective on how AI changes software delivery and what engineers need to understand, specify, and verify. On his Substack, he writes about AI engineering, context engineering, agent orchestration, and the changing responsibilities of engineering organisations. His articles examine both the opportunities and the difficult questions: how to distinguish output from competence, how to preserve engineering judgement, and how to measure whether automation improves results.
He brings a practitioner’s perspective to AI engineering, connecting the mechanics of coding agents with the decisions leaders face when changing how their teams build software.
