Blue Whales Blue Skies Awards Ceremony - Responsible Shipping
Blue Whales and Blue Skies is a voluntary Vessel Speed Reduction (VSR) program that helps the world’s largest shipping lines and companies that rely on them implement responsible shipping practices to reduce: lethal ship strikes on endangered and threatened whales, emissions, air and underwater noise pollution. BWBS helps companies reduce supply chain biodiversity and public health impacts. Cooperation rates and environmental benefits are independently verified, and program participants receive recognition and press to encourage further adoption of more sustainable shipping practices.
On April 22, 2026: We're looking forward to gathering to celebrate top-performing shipping lines, company ambassadors, and to discuss global efforts for safer whales, cleaner air, and a quieter ocean. In addition to the awards ceremony to recognize exceptional industry efforts, panel-style discussions include:
> Leadership in Biodiversity and Air Quality Protection: with representatives from MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company, CMA CGM, The CSL Group Inc., NYK Line, and other leading container, car, bulk & tanker lines.
> Supporting Responsible Shipping and Supply Chains: with JAS Worldwide, Nomad, The Block Logistics, and STAX Engineering.
> Global Whale Conservation Efforts: with University of Washington, Benioff Ocean Science Laboratory, California Marine Sanctuary Foundation, and World Wildlife Fund.
