About Event

Join StoryTell and Stoop Stories for a very special intergenerational evening of connection through conversation and personal storytelling. We'll explore our perspectives, curiosities, and personal stories on the theme of "Love Thy Neighbor".

Do you have a neighbor that has changed your life? What was a recent connection you had with a neighbor and what did it mean to you? How has a neighbor shown up in your life in an unexpected way?

What to expect:

  • 🗣️ Part conversation! In intergenerational pairs, we'll get to know each other's lived experience and learn stories of each others' beloved neighbors.

  • 📖 Part storytelling! You'll have the opportunity to practice oral history skills and share your partner's personal story with the group.

    • This is a casual environment to share your story with a warm, open community in a "campfire stories" setting.

  • 💖 All community. Come to build intergenerational connections through vulnerability, courage, and shared experience. You'll meet new open-minded, curious friends through deeper, intentional connection.

Your hosts: Rachel Saslaw & Marj Kleinman

Light snacks will be provided, but feel free to bring dinner or something more substantial to eat!

Come join us on a journey in realizing that we're not alone in our human experience. You belong here, and we can't wait to see you.

StoryTell is a gathering to learn, inspire, and share real life stories around each event's theme. Our mission is to build in-person connection through vulnerability, courage, and shared experience.

Stoop Stories is a non-profit that connects New York City neighbors across generations and differences to reduce loneliness and increase compassion and joy. Through documentary stories and community events, we celebrate stoop culture and highlight underrepresented communities.

Refreshment support provided by CoGenerate.
