Perimenopause with love:Culture, science & strategies for this life transition
Description
This workshop invites you to explore alternative narratives about women’s aging through the lenses of history, culture, and science. By challenging the traditional medical view of menopause as “ovarian failure” or “estrogen deficiency,” it offers a more nurturing perspective to guide you through this life stage.
Together we will look at key questions, such as:
Why is aging so difficult to accept in Western societies?
What are the evolutionary and biological advantages of menopause for humankind?
How do non-Western cultures interpret this life stage?
When is menopause considered “early,” and how do we know when we’ve reached postmenopause?
What happens to women’s hormonal patterns and brains during the transition?
These are some of the questions we’ll explore. Alongside reflection and dialogue, I will also share practical wellbeing and self-care strategies so you can navigate perimenopause — with love.
