From Co-op to ‘Oh, This Is My Thing’ - Upper Year Career Panel | ARBUS Society
If you’ve done the co-ops, stacked the resume, and still feel like you’re guessing, this is for you.
This panel is about the moment when a job stops feeling like “just another role” and starts feeling like your thing. Not perfectly. Not permanently. Just enough to know you’re moving in the right direction.
You’ll hear from upper-years who’ve worked across PR & Communications, Marketing, Growth, Finance, Consulting, HR, Project Management, and Business Analysis, with experience at places like:
EY, Toronto Tech Week, Government of Ontario, Government of Canada, Dayforce, NordVPN, RBC, CIBC, Hatch, and the University of Waterloo.
We’ll talk about:
The co-ops that didn’t feel right and why they still mattered (and were springboards to the next!)
How people realized a role was (or wasn’t) for them
What actually helped them narrow focus before graduating
How to stop chasing “good on paper” and start trusting your signals
If you’re tired of vague career advice and want honest context from people just a few steps ahead (and in Arts!) come through.
You don’t need a 5-year plan for your full degree. You just need a clearer next step.
Come ready with your questions!
