The payload tests MLC-1, our proprietary lightweight composite shielding, protecting a commercial processor in the actual radiation environment of low Earth orbit. Six months of live data will answer a question the satellite industry has been circling for years: can you build with commercial off-the-shelf electronics and have them survive in space?
