Community Call: Guild Humanitas (protecting human flourishing in the age of AI)

​Guild Humanitas is an initiative seeking to promote collective human flourishing in the face of the social and cultural disruptions brought about by LLMs and GenAI.

​Guild Humanitas draws inspiration from the medieval guild model and Pope Leo’s Magnifica Humanitas, exploring how we can center community and human dignity through self regulation.

In this call Metagov community members, Luke Miller and Hazel Sarwar, will introduce "Protocol Zones," a system of modular rules used to scope AI usage at the boundaries of different spaces and contexts within an organization. We hope this approach will spark discussion of the impact of AI tools, and provide a governance surface for organizations to decide which practices and norms make sense for them.

The remainder of the call will be reserved for community members to share experiences of AI harms (in communities, workplaces, etc.), and positive practices or experiences that led to flourishing. We will capture these thoughts in a Google Doc to be shared after the event!
