Making Sense of Sustainability: A Carbon Accounting Workshop
Presented by the UBC Sauder Centre for Climate and Business Solutions | Part of UBC Climate Emergency Week

This workshop is intended for UBC Students.

Feeling overwhelmed by the climate crisis? Unsure where to start with sustainability, or which skills will matter in real-world jobs? This interactive workshop gives students practical tools to take meaningful action.

You’ll learn the fundamentals of carbon accounting—how to measure, understand, and manage carbon emissions—and gain skills that can be applied in any organization or project. Whether you want to reduce emissions for a student club, for a company you’re interning with, or better understand your own personal carbon footprint, this is the perfect place to start.

You'll walk away with:

  • A clear overview of what carbon accounting means and how it’s done

  • Real examples of how students are applying it with companies today

  • Insights into why carbon accounting skills are in demand across industries

📌 No technical background required. This workshop is ideal for students interested in business and climate, and gaining practical skills that employers are looking for.
