On Thursday 17 September 2026, Countercult is bringing the network to Klunkerkranich in Berlin for a public night for finding:

Come meet the people behind Countercult’s growing public network, find collaborators and opportunities outside your usual circles, or come for a rooftop evening of jazz, drawing, DJs, and sunset.

This is a real room with real people, real practices, real spaces, and things they want to make happen.
Why we’re doing it
We made this event to celebrate finally launching Countercult’s free-to-join platform for artists’ housing, resources, and cultural exchange.
But this is also the IRL version of how the network works:
A cultural space has a need.
We find the people.
The artists get paid.
The room comes alive.
This celebration and live case study is in partnership with Klunkerkranich, the semi-secret rooftop DIY space in Berlin.
We’re curating and paying local creatives from the network, including Analog Beats Collective, Sketchy Shona, Mad.Mod, Natascha Roze, and more.
More and more DIY and independent venues are shutting down. We cannot solve that with one evening. But we can show what another model looks like:
A venue has a need.
Countercult connects it to local culture.
Local creatives get paid.
That is what we mean when we say culture builds economies.
Not culture as decoration. Not culture as free labour. A real programme, in a real space, with money reaching the people making Berlin worth being in.

How the jam works
4–7pm: open drawing jam and live jazz jam
Bring your instrument or drawing materials if you want to join in.
If you want to join the drawing jam, you can simply come along.
If you’re a musician and want to join the jazz jam, email countercultplatform@gmail.com.
After 7pm: jazzy house sets, DJs, drinks, conversations, and rooftop wandering until late.
Come for the jazz. Come for the drawing. Come to meet someone you would not normally find. Come because the network is growing and you should be in the room.
