[Webinar] Inspiration Valley - Matteo Tranchida

​For the upcoming webinar organized in collaboration between Silicon Valley Study Tour and Lead The Future Mentorship, Matteo Tranchida will share his life as a Co-Founder @TackPay.

​Matteo’s entrepreneurial journey began in Liguria while studying Economics and Business at the University of Genoa. During his university years, he worked as a waiter and experienced firsthand a recurring problem: more and more customers wanted to leave a tip, but often had no cash available.

​This simple observation sparked an idea that would later become TackPay.

​Alongside his academic studies, Matteo developed a strong interest in innovation, startups and digital products, exploring how technology could solve everyday problems in traditional industries.

​In 2019, Matteo began working on the concept behind TackPay: a platform designed to enable anyone to leave, receive and manage tips digitally.

​Shortly after, the COVID-19 pandemic brought the tourism and hospitality industries to a standstill. With international travel severely reduced and the target market effectively frozen, the project was temporarily put on hold.

​During this period, Matteo continued investing in his entrepreneurial education and joined several startup acceleration and innovation programs, while also working on innovation and startup-related projects that further strengthened his product, marketing and business skills.

​As the market recovered, Matteo resumed development of TackPay while continuing his entrepreneurial journey through programs at Google Cloud and Georgetown University, including time spent in Washington DC, New York and San Francisco studying startup ecosystems alongside founders and mentors.

​The first TackPay MVP was launched in 2023. Today, the platform is used by restaurants, hotels, tour operators and service businesses across multiple countries.

​More recently, Matteo was recognized in the Forbes Under 30 Italy Finance list, invited as a speaker at the Milan Fintech Summit and selected by Les Roches to mentor founders participating in the UN Tourism AI Challenge.
