Join us for an exploration of how student activism and organizing on Stanford campus supported the creation of the Committee on Black Performing Arts (CBPA,) the foremother to the Institute for Diversity in the Arts (IDA.) We'll hear from guests about the political context that propelled its creation, including the Black Student Union’s organizing in the late 60s, and CBPA's student-run era. We’ll discuss the present moment, how our work continues to evolve, and address sankofa as a core principle, and how the past informs our present, learn about updates from IDA’s archive.
