​AI won’t replace researcher judgment, but it can accelerate the work behind it. Khalil Sullivan will share how his team rebuilt a research reporting workflow at ByteDance—from a two‑day manual process to a two‑hour AI‑supported system—using structured prompting, model testing, and verification loops. Then we'll take a look at new advancements in Deep Research, with suggestions on how to incorporate this new far-from-perfect but potentially useful AI mode into your own workflow.

​Khalil Sullivan is an AI/LLM researcher, musician, and educator based in Los Angeles. At ByteDance, he specialized in deep research, hallucination analysis, and the design of reliable AI‑assisted workflows. A longtime composer and performer, he is co‑writer of the musical At Buffalo and founder of the award‑winning ensemble MAD NOISE. He holds a Ph.D. in English Literature from UC Berkeley.
