Cities are expanding. Tourism is growing. Infrastructure and investment are transforming communities. At the same time, the country is navigating climate risks, pressure on natural resources, and questions about what sustainable development should actually look like.
But what if doing less harm is no longer enough?
Join Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Hồng Quân and Dr. Tuyen Tran for a conversation on what it would mean for Vietnam to move beyond sustainability and towards regeneration.

About the Speakers
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Hồng Quân
Institute for Circular Economy Development, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City
Dr Quân works at the intersection of circular economy, climate resilience and socio-ecological systems. He brings a systems perspective to the conversation, exploring how cities, economies, infrastructure and resource flows can be redesigned to support more regenerative forms of development.
Dr. Tuyen Tran
University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City
Dr Tran’s work explores regenerative tourism and regenerative futures. He brings a perspective centred on people, culture and place, asking how regeneration can go beyond environmental restoration to also transform the relationships between communities, visitors and the places they depend on.
