About Event

Let's talk about being more human in tech! Join a small group for a happy hour meetup talking about getting better psychology in our software and technical communities. All roles welcome: you do not have to be a "software developer" to come, just generally interested in the role software plays in the world.

Details: We'll meet and hang outside on the patio, so bring a layer if needed. Come late, leave early, no explanation needed.

Please show up ready to be kind and curious with your fellow humans, we'll follow the Recurse Center code of conduct: https://www.recurse.com/code-of-conduct

About me: I'm Cat Hicks and I just published a book on the Psychology of Software Teams (you can find it here: https://www.drcathicks.com/#book). You do not have to have read this book to come to this meetup! But in case you have, here's a free book club guide: https://catharsisinsight.com/book-club-guide

I'm a research psychologist who leads open science about and for the humans in tech work (including but not limited to studying code review anxiety, how people learn in complex technical systems, and issues like AI Skill Threat and building better coalitions together). I happen to be in Seattle this week and I like happy hours so I thought I'd throw one :)
