Latine Listening Tables
Event Description: Latine Listening Tables is a student-led dialogue program designed to bridge the gap between students, faculty, and administration. Moving beyond debate, this session offers a protected, guided space to discuss the current sociopolitical situation surrounding the Latine community. Participants can expect a structured "Listening Table" format with 6–8 people per table, facilitated by trained hosts, focusing on questions of identity, institutional inequality, and community healing. Culturally relevant catering will be provided to foster a "homey" and welcoming atmosphere.
Audience: This event is specifically tailored for the Latin American and Iberian community at Columbia, including students (undergraduate and graduate), faculty, and staff affiliated with LAIC and Latine student organizations (Chicanex, Mexa, CSA, SOL).
Location Casa Hispánica, 612 W 116th St.
Specific Space: Sobejano Library (206 CH), Department of Latin American and Iberian Cultures.
