Philly JS - Introduction to Hotwire
Hotwire, the default frontend framework for Ruby on Rails, is a set of JavaScript Libraries that help developers build modern web applications without writing a lot of JavaScript.
Join Mike Dalton as he discusses how Turbo speeds up page loads, how Stimulus adds more advanced interactivity, and how Hotwire Native allows you to build iOS and Android apps using your existing Hotwire app.
Mike is a software developer at Triumph leading a Ruby on Rails development team building our NextGen Audit Product.
Philly JS is possible thanks to support from: Supabase, Liberty Jobs, and Indy Hall.

About Philly Javascript Club
Philly's monthly meetup for Javascript developers! Professionals and hobbyists, beginners and experts, all are welcome and encouraged to participate.
Each monthly meetup features a different ~30 minute talk from a community member. Some are focused on the techniques and tools we're using in our work, others are more creative and exploratory.
If there's something you want to learn about, or share, you're in the right place!
About Supabase
Supabase is a popular platform with developers building modern web and mobile applications. Using it gives you many pieces of app infrastructure out of the box including: a hosted Postgres database, authentication, instant APIs, edge functions, realtime subscriptions, storage, and vector embeddings.
Best of all, you can run it on their cloud servers, or self-host using their Open Source option.
