Women Doing Cool $h!t: A Toast Fireside Panel
Join us for our first-ever Women Doing Cool $h!t panel: Toronto Meetup Edition 🍞
This month’s Women Doing Cool $h!t panel brings together Shirin Merchant and Kate Grant, two powerhouse leaders who’ve built careers at the intersection of innovation, purpose, and community.
Shirin Merchant is the founder of Code-it Hacks, a Toronto-based education company helping kids discover coding, robotics, and AI through creativity and play. After two decades leading large-scale data and analytics transformations, Shirin stepped away from corporate life to build a space where learning could be imaginative, inclusive, and hands-on. Growing up with undiagnosed ADHD and raising a child with special needs inspired her to champion neurodiversity and empathy in tech education. Today, she blends technology and compassion to empower the next generation of creators.
Kate Grant is a leader in Canada’s startup and innovation ecosystem, with a decade of experience in venture capital, strategy, and product. She’s worked across FinTech, CleanTech, LegalTech, and SaaS, helping early-stage companies grow, raise capital, and create meaningful impact. A familiar face in the Toronto and KW tech scenes, Kate frequently speaks on panels, mentors entrepreneurs, and advises accelerators across North America. Her mission? To make Canada the global leader in innovation.
