🧠 Med-Dev x MLabAC: AI in Health Summit @ Netlight 🏥✨
The future of healthcare is being rewritten by AI.
As generative models evolve at breakneck speed, the intersection of medicine and artificial intelligence has never been more critical. Join the med-dev and Munich Lab Automation Community (#MLabAC) for an evening dedicated to the AI in Health landscape.
From the nuances of biomedical research to the ethical implications of AI-assisted decision-making, we are diving deep into how AI is moving from a "lab experiment" to a systematic driver of human flourishing.
📅 Date: Thursday, April 23, 2026
⏰ Time: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
📍 Location: Netlight Munich, Prannerstraße 4, 80333 München

Our summit kicks off with a high-level keynote to ground us in the current state of the art, followed by a series of specialized, interactive workshops.
👋 Welcome & Introduction
A brief welcome from the med-dev & Munich Lab Automation Community teams and a word from our hosts at Netlight.
🎤 Keynote: AI in Biomedical Research and the Diagnostics of Blood Diseases
Prof. Carsten Marr (Director of the Institute of AI for Health @ Helmholtz Munich & Professor for AI in Cell Therapy and Hematology @ LMU)
Explore how AI is revolutionizing diagnostics and research at one of Europe’s leading health institutes.
🛠️ The Workshops (Deep Dives)
Choose your focus area during the event. Each session lasts approximately 1 hour.
⚠️ Note: For Workshops 2 and 5, please bring your laptop 💻 for the best experience.
Workshop 1: From Lab Problem to AI Startup (Interactive)
Host: Dr. Christopher Kuhn (Head of AI @ spira-labs.ai)
Focus: Why do most AI startups in Life Sciences fail? Move from "solution-first" to "problem-first." We will identify lab pain points and pitch AI-driven business models in real-time.
Workshop 2: ChatGPT is all you need? Biomedical Reasoning Models
Host: Lucas Mair (CTO & Co-founder, provigen.ai)
Focus: A hands-on look at reasoning models in biology. 💻 Ideally, bring your laptop for this session!
Workshop 3: Enabling Patients via Health Literacy
Host: Philipp Zagar (Software Engineer & Research Fellow @ Stanford University)
Focus: Improving health literacy within the Stanford Spezi ecosystem to empower patients.
Workshop 4: Human Decision-Making in the Age of Intelligent Systems
Host: Dr. Marianne Thejls Ziegler (Business Ethics @ TUM)
Focus: How does AI influence decision-making? We discuss the risk of AI-mediated agency and how to preserve human autonomy and competence in the workplace.
Workshop 5: LLMs Today vs. Tomorrow (Discussion Round)
Host: Martin Patz (differential.bio)
Focus: A collaborative discussion on current LLM workflows and future expectations. 💻 Ideally, bring your laptop for this session!
Workshop 6: Biological Cell Painting & Computer Vision
Host: Netlight Team (netlight.com)
Focus: Scaling image-based profiling. Learn how deep learning handles the massive data output of modern phenotypic screening.
🥂 Networking & Exchange
We’ll wrap up the evening with drinks and snacks, giving you the chance to connect with speakers, researchers, and fellow developers from both the med-dev and MLabAC communities.
