📢 Calling All SMEs – We Need Your Voice!

Small businesses across the UK are increasingly being asked to report their carbon emissions by banks, large customers, and the public sector. But current approaches are often inconsistent, confusing, and time-consuming.

That’s why the SME Data Taskforce, a coalition 50+ organisations across finance, business, government and civil society, convened by B4NZ and The Broadway Initiative have proposed the UK SME Voluntary Emissions Standard – a simple, consistent way for SMEs to report energy use and emissions. The principle is clear: create once, share many - reducing admin, unlocking green finance, and opening up contract opportunities.

To make sure this Standard works in practice, we need your input.

Join B4NZ and Oak North on Tuesday 15th October, 8:30–10:30am for an informal breakfast focus group. You’ll get a walk-through of the proposed Standard and the chance to share what works, what doesn’t, and what SMEs really need. No climate expertise required – just honest insights from real business leaders.

Why join?

  • Influence a national approach designed to support SMEs

  • Ensure the Standard reflects your business reality

  • Shape a tool that could save time, open doors, and drive opportunities

Spaces are limited – register your interest today. Formal invitations will follow.
