βAnd you don't need to stay for the whole session β even 30 minutes of help is very welcome!
βπΏ What will we do?
βWeβll begin preparing the two meadow areas for autumn sowing. The work will involve things such as:
βπͺ preparing suitable areas for sowing
π± working the soil where needed
πΏ managing some of the existing vegetation
πΌ creating suitable conditions for meadow plants
π learning about the sites and thinking about how we can support local biodiversity
βThis is a hands-on community activity, so come ready to get a little dirty!
βπ Who can join?
βEveryone is welcome!
βYou don't need to be part of the Anthobees project and you don't need previous gardening, permaculture or ecology experience.
βYou can come for:
βthe whole 2-hour session
βone hour
βor even just 30 minutes
βEvery bit of help counts. π±
βπ₯ͺ Snacks
βPlant-based snacks will be provided during the session.
βπΌ Why are we doing this?
βAnthobees is about more than simply growing flowers. We want to create two small community meadows that become places where we can learn about plants, insects and pollinators, observe how the ecosystem changes over time, and create something together as a community.
βThe meadow preparation is just the beginning β later weβll sow the seeds, observe flowering and pollinators, photograph and identify species, and continue caring for the sites together.
βCome for an afternoon, help us get started, and be part of creating something together! π±π
