Celebrate Glasgow's 2026 Commonwealth Games with The Cooperation Band + Glasgow Cathedral Choir!

Featuring Chariots of Fire, Zadok the Priest and other favourites performed by Scotland’s most successful brass band and Glasgow Cathedral’s professional choir, alongside personal stories and poetry reflecting on musical and sporting journeys. Come and enjoy this uplifting celebration of modern Commonwealth values.

The Cooperation Band was founded in 1918 as the Scottish Co-operative Wholesale Society Band at the SCWS factories in Shieldhall, Glasgow, the band has a rich history and is a thriving over a hundred years on.

The band, who sit in the top ten in the brass band rankings in the world are striving to be ambassadors for the arts in Scotland and internationally which has included making history this year as the first Scottish brass band to compete in the World Music Contest in Kerkrade, Netherlands.

Katrina Marzella-Wheeler, the Principal Conductor of the band is an internationally acclaimed conductor, award-winning baritone horn virtuoso and Yamaha Artist. A former Black Dyke Band soloist, she has premiered over 25 new works, inspired audiences across Europe, earning recognition for championing innovation, excellence and diversity in brass music and last year helped the band win Brass in Concert, the first Scottish band to ever win the prestigious competition.
