Do you want to learn more about climate design and how it can apply to your curriculum? Unsure where to start? Experiences you’d like to share? Join the New Wave team’s Struggles & Successes event where we’ll share insights about teaching climate resilience in design.
New Wave is in the process of planning our programming for Fall 2026, and we want to hear from you. This event is an opportunity for you to share your successes and struggles, but also an opportunity to be a part of the future of climate resilience in design education.
During this free virtual event, we’ll give educators the opportunity to introduce themselves and their work, then we’ll break out into small groups and explore some of the following prompts:
How do you define success in your role as an educator? How can climate resilience fit into that definition?
Celebrate your successes in the classroom
Share your frustrations about what is not working
Explore climate topics and their potential for design curriculum integration
Connect with peers who care about climate action in design education
Reflect on how we can better support each other
This event is very similar to the monthly series hosted by Climate Designers, however, New Wave will focus specifically on educators’ experiences teaching at academic institutions and building our community. Your ideas and discussions will also help us plan for future content and workshops!
