It's Not as Alien as You Think: The Art of Believable Character Design

Great concept art is not about creating from thin air. It is about transforming what already exists. The most memorable creatures and worlds feel fresh yet believable because they are inspired by real shapes, behaviours, and patterns found in nature.

Join Kingston Chan (Program Director, MAGES) and Damien Soh (Art Director and Lecturer) as they walk you through their creative process for designing the unknown. Learn how to build fantastical environments and characters by grounding imagination in reality, and discover how to create compelling worlds without overthinking the process.
