MakersLounge Toronto #10: Claude Code Build & Demo Night πŸš€

Stop watching tutorials. Start building real software tonight.

This is a hands-on Claude Code workshop + build night designed for non-technical founders, creators, and anyone curious about building software with AI. No coding background needed. You'll walk in with an idea and walk out with something you actually built then show it off to the room.

β€‹πŸ‘¨β€πŸ« Your Host

This workshop will be led by Vimal Kumar Parthasarathy, who'll take you through Claude Code from first principles to shipping real software. Vimal has gone deep on the tool the plugins, the workflows, the gotchas and has distilled it all into a practical session so you don't have to learn the hard way.

β€‹πŸ•• The Evening (6:00 PM – 9:00 PM)

6:00 – 7:00 PM - Live Training We'll walk you through Claude Code from scratch β€” what it is, how it works, and the features that separate "just prompting" from actually building quality software. Not a lecture we'll build something live, together, so you can see exactly how the workflow feels.

7:00 – 8:30 PM - Guided Build Session You build. We help. Pick a project, your own idea or one of our starter templates and start building it with Claude Code. We'll be in the room guiding you through the process, troubleshooting, and helping you get unstuck.

8:30 – 9:00 PM - Demo Time Show the room what you made. No slides needed just your screen, your prototype, whatever you've got. Get real feedback from other makers (not just "looks great!").

β€‹πŸŽ― What You'll Walk Away With

  • Something you actually built, running on your machine, before you leave the room

  • A practical guide to building products with Claude Code not theory, real workflow

  • Access to our curated Claude Code plugin repo that pushes vibe coding toward production-quality software

  • Curated guides and documentation that distill the core concepts we learned the hard way so you don't have to

  • Real feedback on your work from a room full of motivated makers

  • Post-event support through our Slack community

β€‹πŸ’‘ Why This Session Is Different

There are tons of Claude Code resources out there. We know we went through all of them. This session takes everything we've learned and gives it to you in a simple, practical way. The goal isn't just prototyping. It's showing you how Claude Code's features plan mode, CLAUDE.md, plugins, subagents give you more control and autonomy so you can vibe code AND ship quality software.

πŸ‘₯ Who Should Attend

  • Non-technical founders who want to build their own product

  • Creators and makers curious about AI-assisted development

  • Anyone who's tried vibe coding and wants to level up from prototype to real software

  • People who love seeing what others are building

This is NOT a deep technical dive. We're setting that expectation upfront. This is about sparking curiosity, giving you the tools, and getting you building.
