About Event

Learn to carve Linocut AND create the perfect set of stamps. Did we mention it's easy to wrap?

In this hands-on workshop, we’ll guide guests through the basics of linocut printmaking. You’ll carve a set of six unique 1x1 inch designs, mount them on wood blocks to make real working stamps, and assemble/decorate a matchbox to hold them.

The session begins with a short history of linocut, one of the most enduring relief printing techniques, followed by a demonstration of the essentials: transferring designs, carving safely, and practicing smaller cuts specifically for stamps.

Once you’ve learned the fundamentals, you’ll have dedicated time to carve your six designs. You’ll have creative freedom to make a set that feels like yours. If you're looking for something more meditative, we'll also have traceable designs ready for you to borrow!

Next, you’ll mount your carved blocks onto wood and assemble your matchbox, which you can design and decorate however you like. The stamps are sized to fit snugly inside.

By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a complete handmade stamp set in its own box. Easy to wrap for a holiday gift or stashed away for your own stationary collection.
