Menstrual Stem Cells Under the Microscope: Workshop
Let’s look closer: visualizing stem cells under the microscope.
————
Cellular medicine is reshaping how we understand and care for our bodies: this time we’ll be turning our attention to the lab bench, literally looking at stem cells up close. At this hands-on class, we’ll explore how to properly collect, stain, and visualize menstrual blood under the microscope—and what these living cells can tell us about regeneration and health.
Seeing our own biology magnified can be a profound shift in perspective. Beyond abstract conversations about therapies and future applications, this workshop will invite participants to engage directly with cellular life, building practical skills and a deeper connection to the regenerative potential within us.
This event is for anyone curious about biology at a cellular level. Whether you’re a researcher, tinkerer, community scientist, or simply excited to understand what your body is capable of, you’re warmly invited to join.
We’ll begin with a guided live guided demo and plenty of space for questions and community exchange.
This event is hosted by BioPunk, a community dedicated to open science and DIYbio exploration and sponsored by Muse Bio (@mycells.bio), a biotech startup deriving stem cells from menstrual blood to fuel cellular therapies.

Agenda:
6:00pm–6:30pm – Arrival, community networking
6:30pm – Class begins: collection, staining, visualization
7:30–8:15pm – Hands-on practice, open discussion, and community exchange

Discussion & Practice:
We’ll cover the basics of cell staining and microscopy, and how menstrual blood can be an accessible source of regenerative biology. Participants will learn about common tools, techniques, and safety practices, while also engaging in broader conversation about what it means to democratize access to cellular science.
