About Event

The Circadian Health Innovations in Medicine, Sleep & Epidemiology Symposium (CHIMES), hosted by the Aging Initiative, aims to highlight innovation in wearable technology, AI/ML unlocking sleep physiology, and groundbreaking first-in-class therapeutics. Note: registration approval is required to attend!

We are pleased to announce Richard Pops, former CEO and chairman of Alkermes ($7.7B dollar public biotech company), expert in orexin biology and therapeutics more broadly as our opening speaker. As head of the Midsized Biotech Alliance of America (MBAA) and former chair of the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) & Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), Pops truly understands the industry from top to bottom and is leading policy efforts to reinvigorate biotech innovation in the nation amidst China and potentially devastating policy proposals.

Ed Baker, Chief Product Officer of WHOOP, will be joining us as closing speaker. Previously, he served as the VP of Product and Growth at Uber and the Head of International Growth at Facebook. An elite endurance athlete and triathlete himself, his work sits at the exact intersection of scaling wearables and human performance.

Our Current Speaker List for CHIMES 2026 is outlined below:

  • Richard Pops, Chairman & former CEO, Alkermes

  • Dr. Jay Pathmanathan, Medical Director, Beacon Biosignals

  • Dr. Olivia Walch, CEO & Co-Founder, Arcascope

Sleep and circadian disruption represent some of the largest yet most underaddressed contributors to pathology today, including neurodegenerative decline and cardiometabolic disorders. For decades, clinical practice has relied on symptom management and cumbersome devices. Today, the convergence of advances in large scale data analysis, sensor modalities, and targeted therapies makes it possible to better understand and address mechanisms of disease directly. We bring together founders, researchers, clinicians, biopharma executives, investors, and students to catalyze discussion surrounding the future of sleep and human health.
