​New to the city and eager to start building your local community?

​Come hang out with fellow New Yorkers for a fun, welcoming gathering where we'll meet new people, share current needs, swap tips, and help each other feel at home in NYC.

​Each month, we focus on specific topics based on requests from participants.

​This is a space to connect with new people, and help each other take action, find support, and build the local community we want around us.

​Newcomers are risk-takers, builders, and innovators looking for belonging. When we welcome newcomers, we strengthen our communities and prevent loneliness.

​Newcomers and longtime residents of all ages and backgrounds are welcome.

​Agenda (note that we'll start promptly and finish on time)

• ​10:00am: warm welcome, introductions, current needs

• ​​10:20am: small group exchanges where we share insider knowledge on the topics of the day (people, places, events, groups etc.)

• ​​10:40am: group debrief and community time

• ​​11:00am: event ends

​I’m Odile, a longtime NYC resident who has moved to new cities and countries multiple times. I know firsthand how challenging it can be to feel at home, and how much power newcomers have to reshape a community for the better.
