Stimulating disclosure on specialized and sensitive topics with AIMI by Nottingham University | First presentation of new research findings
Can AI-generated follow-ups help people say more, especially when the topic is complex, unfamiliar, or uncomfortable?
Join us for the first presentation of new independent research by Dr. Charlotte Doidge, Prof. Jasmeet Kaler, and Abbie-Louise Smith from the University of Nottingham.
The study examines how AI-generated, dynamic follow-up questions perform in specialized and sensitive research contexts, compared with static questions.
The research topic focused on public perceptions of dairy calf welfare in the UK as the test case (veterinary medicine).
This topic creates a useful methodological challenge: participants may have limited prior knowledge, mixed feelings, or discomfort expressing their views.
During the session, Dr. Doidge will share:
the study design
early findings
what AI-generated follow-ups add compared with static questions
how respondents elaborate, introduce new details, and discuss underexplored topics
The webinar is part of Glaut Research: our Research on Research, our open program with academic and independent partners evaluating AIMIs through evidence-based experimentation.
