About Event

Professional skills, or soft skills, play a huge part in career growth and workplace efficiency. This session highlights how students can make the most of their time and resources, utilize their own unique background and experiences, and build the professional and problem solving skills that matter in any field.

By blending storytelling with actionable steps, this session hopes to encourage students to define their interests — and take intentional steps toward them.

Featured Speaker:
Roma Amor Malasarte is a recent graduate of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, earning her Bachelors of Science in Information and Computer Sciences. She currently works at Central Pacific Bank as a Business Intelligence Analyst where her and her team standardize data and support data driven decision making. During her time at UH Manoa, Roma was actively involved in several student organizations and programs including the Residence Hall Association, Supporting Women in Tech and Computing Hawaiʻi (SWITCH), and Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship (PACE). She also participated in multiple research and data science internships, the most recent being the Hyundai Card Internship in Seoul, South Korea. She is passionate about helping students explore opportunities and understand how their unique experiences can shape their careers. Through sharing her own journey, she hopes to give students real world advice and encouragement from someone who has been in their shoes.
