Drawing Play-Date: Sea Birds
Drawing Play-Date:
The monthly free meet-up for everyone - hosted by Robyn Hepburn, eccentric illustrator - where we scribble pictures for fun, not results! (There will be results, but they're just a nice bonus.)
This month we're going to draw Birds of the Sea.
Gulls, Guillemots, and Gannets. Skuas, Shags, and Shearwaters. And others that don't alliterate.
Did you know that sea birds were very useful to sea-faring explorers? They could judge by the sea birds they saw how near to (or far from) land they were.
What to bring:
I'll probably just use something simple this month, like a pencil, since most of these sea birds are monochrome.
Make sure you've got paper or something to draw on.
If you don't want to use a regular old pencil, you could use a Blackwing, or a stick of charcoal, or a Sharpie. There are no wrong art materials...
All ages and skill levels welcome! Bring your children, your friends, your neighbours, your canary (though he might get jealous).
