About Event

About the Exhibition:

Continuously Constructing is a solo exhibition by Norwegian artist Rika Maja Duevel that explores the unfolding process of becoming. Through an introverted lens, the work examines the quiet terrain between vision and reality—the space where ideas emerge, evolve, falter, and are rebuilt. Layered paintings, mixed-media works, and wearable sculptures trace the emotional architecture of growth: uncertainty, persistence, longing, and the courage to continue despite not knowing what lies ahead. Recurring figures and shield-like forms reflect the distance between what is visible to the world and the complex inner landscapes we carry within.

Presented in a space dedicated to entrepreneurs and innovators, the exhibition offers a reflection on the often unseen journey behind creation. Success is not portrayed as a destination, but as a continuous act of construction. Each work invites viewers to consider the inner worlds that shape our ideas, our choices, and ultimately, who we are becoming.

About the Artist:

Rika Maja Duevel is a painter, mixed media, performance artist and curator from Stavanger, Norway. She is a global nomad and this triggers the nucleus of her work. Her artwork manifests from her daily experiences, the idea of capturing the moment through an introverted lens. A focus on her own female experience and the journey and deeper research into the concept of the Introverted Artist, the unseen soul. The figures incorporated into her work are inspired by Norwegian Bronze Age Carvings; they act as the narrator to her visual stories. An award-winning artist and graduate of Wheaton College, SACI, and Lesley University she has exhibited in Amsterdam, Rome, Venice, Bologna, Naples, Florence, Milan, Barcelona, Granada, Paris, Seoul , Tokyo, and Buenos Aires. An Artist in Residence in Barcelona, Granada, Spain, Ardèche, France, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Guest Artist Lecturer at the University of Amsterdam’s Business School (UVA), published in the “50 Artists to Watch 2023” and “50 Artists to Discover 2025” by the Florence Contemporary Gallery, and named one of the “Top 30 Influential Women Entrepreneurs to Watch Out For in 2025” by NY Weekly Magazine.
