Mind Stretcher PSLE Oral Mastery Workshop (Part 1): Ace Reading Aloud with Head of English Mavis Tan
In the new PSLE English Oral format, Reading Aloud passages are no longer limited to simple narratives. Students may encounter script-like texts that must be delivered to a specific audience in a particular context (e.g. an announcement, speech, or presentation).
To perform well, students need to recognise the purpose, audience, and context of the passage and adjust their tone and delivery accordingly.
In this workshop, students will learn the Mind Stretcher R.E.A.P. framework to deliver passages clearly and confidently.
Through demonstrations, examples, and guided discussion, students will discover how to:
- Identify the purpose, audience, and context of a passage
- Adjust tone, emphasis, and expression effectively
- Read with clarity, confidence, and natural flow
By the end of the session, students will have practical strategies to deliver passages effectively and perform with greater confidence in the PSLE Oral Examination.
Who this workshop is for:
- Primary 5–6 students preparing for PSLE
- Primary 4 students seeking early exposure to PSLE oral skills.
