About Event

The Office for Nigerian Digital Innovation, under the National Information Technology Development Agency, invites relevant stakeholders to participate in the Lagos Technical Validation Workshop for the National Innovation Hub Standards Framework.

Nigeria has a large and geographically dispersed network of innovation hubs that provide entrepreneurs and startups with training, mentorship, workspace, technical support, market access and ecosystem connections. However, the capacity, quality of service and institutional maturity of these hubs vary considerably.

The National Innovation Hub Standards Framework is being developed to establish a common national system for identifying, classifying, assessing and supporting innovation hubs. It is intended to strengthen service quality, provide practical development pathways for hubs and enable government and development partners to direct support using clearer and more consistent evidence.

The framework is designed as an ecosystem development, quality-assurance and continuous-improvement instrument. It is not intended to serve as a licensing or regulatory mechanism.

Following the completion of global benchmarking, national hub mapping, stakeholder research and the development of the draft framework, this workshop will provide stakeholders with an opportunity to review and validate the proposed standards before pilot implementation.
