About the event
When I started lifting, I was intimidated, lost, and nowhere near consistent. I kept copying things from youtube and instagram without really understanding the movements, and falling off after few tries.
The thing is, most classes just tell you what to do for 45 minutes, but rarely don't go into the details such as the why. A personal trainer can teach you the how and why, but that's a big commitment, and finding the right one is hard. And even then, a session is only an hour, and most of it has to go on getting the workout in, so the theory rarely gets the time it deserves.
So we went looking for an event that actually taught the theory behind strength training, in a room full of women. We couldn't find one, so we built it.
That's Lift Lab, understand what you're doing and why, then put it into practice, together.
What is Lift Lab
Lift Lab is our brand new educational strength experience for women+. It's a premium three-hour event that combines a focused lecture on the principles of strength training, a coached group session, and a curated social atmosphere. You'll leave understanding exactly what you're doing, and why, so training on your own no longer feels like guesswork, all in a room full of women figuring it out alongside you.
One evening, three parts:
Learn the what, how and why, the theory behind your lifts
Practice, a fully coached strength session
Connect, time with other women getting into lifting
This edition: Day 1, Female Health and Female Strength, Hormones and Your Cycle
This weekend is a big one for us, our six-month anniversary, and we wanted to mark it with something we care about deeply: a celebration of female health and female strength. Two days, two experts, one idea, that the better you understand your own body, the smarter and stronger you can train.
Day one is about understanding your body across your cycle, and how to train and fuel with it. There's a lot of noise out there telling you exactly how to train and eat for each phase, and it can start to feel like one more set of rules to get right, or get wrong. So we're slowing it down and looking at what's actually going on, and what the science actually says.
With our lead coach, Karolina, we'll get into:
What: what really happens across your cycle, and how it can shape your energy, training, appetite and cravings
Why: why rigid "cycle-syncing" is more marketing than evidence, your cycle is information, not a set of rules
How: how to read your body and adapt your training and your nutrition to how you actually feel, rather than following a fixed calendar
We'll also get practical on fuelling, simple nutrition strategies to support your cycle and ease the symptoms that can come with it.
You'll leave understanding your own body a little better, and with a calmer, clearer way to train and eat with it rather than against it.

The six-month anniversary party
We're turning six months, and we're celebrating properly. Right after Saturday's session, we're throwing a 2000s + 2010s throwback party, the music you grew up on, your people around you, and a proper moment to toast how far this community has come.
We're also lining up a lunch option to open the afternoon, a hot, protein-rich meal by a partner. It's not locked in yet, so if you'd like it, flag your interest when you register for the celebration and we'll be in touch once it's confirmed.
Saturday 24 October, 2.30pm - 6.30pm . It's open to the whole community. Also bring all your female friends you've been wanting to bring to Women's Lift Club. It's free, but it has its own page and guest list, so make sure you (and your friends) grab a spot, even if you're already joining us for Lift Lab: https://luma.com/womens-09q5
