Super Nintendo finds lifelong gamer Keza exploring Nintendo’s legendary roster of games – as well as consoles such as the SNES, Game Boy, Wii and Switch, and a host of other quirky inventions from the Power Glove to Nintendo Labo. Drawing from decades’ worth of exclusive interviews with their creators and the people whose lives have been changed by them, she tells the story of how this unassuming playing card company, founded in Kyoto in 1889, became one of the dominant cultural forces of the twenty-first century - and the story of how video games have become part of our inner worlds.

Keza MacDonald is video games editor at The Guardian; she writes the ‘Pushing Buttons’ newsletter for the newspaper and previously held editorial roles at IGN and Kotaku, two of the biggest specialist games websites in the world. She is also the co-author of You Died: The Dark Souls Companion, and regularly appears on TV and radio as a video games expert. Chris Bratt is the co-founder of People Make Games, a crowdfunded YouTube channel that tells big stories about video games and how they're made. Previously, he worked on the video team for Brighton-based games website Eurogamer.
