Lena John (ITgirls) on Building an Audience Before a Product
Lena John had no role models in tech. So she became one.
She studied business, not computer science. Together with her sister Laura she founded ITgirls and grew it from a few videos about her everyday life at uni into one of Germany's most visible tech communities for young women, featured in COMPUTERWOCHE and HORIZONT. No CS degree, no marketing budget, just consistent content and a clear mission.
If you're building something and wondering how to get people to care before you even have a product, this session is for you.
Friday 30 Oct · 12:00 · Room Pandora, CODE Campus (Donaustraße 44)
Ask her how to
grow an audience from zero
turn content into your main distribution channel
build a brand around a mission, not a product
start a company with family and split the roles
switch into tech without the "right" background
Open Q&A, no slides, bring your real questions.
Part of the "How to Start a Startup" speaker series, hosted by David Matthaei.
