Nucleate Michigan: Women's Dinner
Join us for an exclusive Women’s Leadership Dinner, bringing together accomplished women leaders in the Michigan life sciences ecosystem.
While women represent nearly 50% of employees in life sciences companies, only 20% hold c-suite positions, and just 25% of start-ups are founded by women. With less than 3% of venture capital funding going to women-founded companies in 2023, there is still much progress to be made.
This event aims to celebrate achievements, foster connections, and promote mentorship as we work to raise awareness and empower future leaders in the industry.
Our first guest speaker, Daniela Koniczek, Innovation Ecosystem Specialist with NSF I-Corps, will share insights from her extensive experience in guiding academic innovators toward commercialization. Joining her is Dr. Anna Schwendeman, the Larry and Ann Hsu Professor and Department Chair of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Dr. Schwendeman’s 12-year industry experience spans major firms like Cerenis, Pfizer, and Esperion, where she led HDL therapies through clinical trials and submitted six FDA INDs for various therapeutic platforms.
