Creative Play for Adults: A Workshop to Reconnect with your Spark
When was the last time you allowed yourself to create just for the joy of it?
About this Workshop
Creative Play is a 3-hour in-person workshop about reconnecting with the joy of making. You'll slow down, get your hands into materials, and practise something that most of us were quietly taught to stop doing: listening to our own creative instincts.
How? Through mindful creative exercises, gentle reflection, and a healthy dose of free play!
You'll not only leave connected to your creativity, but with tools to bring more creative play into your creative practice and everyday life.
This is for you if
You miss creating just for the sake of it
Perfectionism tends to get in the way
You sometimes feel creatively stuck or disconnected
You know your spark is in there somewhere, but you've just lost the habit of following it
What we'll do
We'll start by grounding ourselves in the season: this workshop is part of the Dear Creative seasonal creativity framework, and spring is all about experimenting, planting seeds, and seeing what wants to grow. 🌱
Then we'll practise sensing the spark through mindful creative exercises. We’ll explore what gets in the way of our playfulness (and you’ll learn to apply a framework that helps you to get curious about it instead). We'll close with generous time for free play: music on, materials out, no outcome required.
What's included
Basic art materials are provided: paints, papers, pens, pencils.
You're warmly encouraged to bring:
your own medium to play with
art materials you’d like to experiment with

Who is bringing you this workshop?
Nienke Schellinkhout Diaz
Nienke will be your guide. She is a designer, researcher and facilitator. She and founded Dear Creative: an initiative that aims to empower people creatively. Nienke runs workshops from the conviction that everyone has creative capacity and that a more creative society is a healthier one. For her, giving adults the space to play and be creative isn't a luxury. It's a necessity.
The Space: C*Space
