What You'll Experience
DRONE FUNDAMENTALS
How does a drone actually fly? What's happening between your controls and the aircraft?
We’ll explore different types of UAVs and their applications, basic principles of flight, key systems and components, and the fundamentals behind modern drone operations.
You’ll build a structured understanding of the technology and the terminology you need to continue learning independently.
EU REGULATIONS & A1/A3 CERTIFICATION
Flying a drone also means understanding the rules.
We’ll introduce the European UAV regulatory framework and explain the A1/A3 certification pathway: what it is, who needs it, how the process works, what theoretical knowledge is involved and where to continue toward the official certificate.
FPV SIMULATOR EXPERIENCE
Time to take the controls.
Participants will rotate through dedicated FPV simulator stations, supported by instructors who will introduce the controls and guide you through your first flights.
You’ll experience the difference between understanding FPV in theory and actually trying to control one yourself.
And we'll finish with some competition: put your new skills to the test in our FPV simulator challenge, with prizes and Modern Drone Operations patches for the winners.
FIRST-HAND UAV INSIGHTS FROM UKRAINE
Modern UAV technology is developing extraordinarily quickly, and Ukraine has become one of the most important environments for its real-world application and evolution.
A dedicated guest session will bring first-hand Ukrainian UAV perspectives and practical experience into the workshop, followed by Q&A.
Guest speaker and exact session topic will be announced.
UAV INDUSTRY & CAREERS
The UAV ecosystem is much bigger than flying.
We’ll look at how the industry is developing, what kinds of roles exist, which skills companies are looking for and how different technical and professional backgrounds can translate into opportunities in the drone sector.
You'll get an overview of the landscape and have the opportunity to ask questions about possible ways into the industry.
Learn from Experience
The workshop will be led by experienced instructors with NATO backgrounds, EU certifications and practical UAV experience.
Throughout the day, you'll have direct access to instructors and guests — not only during the structured sessions, but also during simulator rotations and Q&A.
