About Event

Strap-on sex contains multitudes: gender and power dynamics, visual and sensory delights, new penetrative possibilities. Learn how to find the gear that’s right for you, how to tap into the hot dynamics of the exchange, and gain practical tools for making the most of your strap-on extremity. This class is open to people who identify as sapphic, including cis and trans women, femmes, trans femmes, and non-binary folks who orient toward cis and trans women, femmes, trans femmes, and non-binary folks. If you identify as male or a man, this class is not for you.

About the Presenter

Sarah Tomchesson started her career at an organization serving incarcerated parents and their families. This is where she was first exposed to community-based sex ed, informally answering questions and offering support. She eventually went on to get certified as a sex educator and later a sex and relationship coach. She has 18 years experience working with individuals and couples.

She came of age in the queer liberation movement steeped in riot grrrl music, activist culture, and performance art. She is now a midlife parent going through perimenopause alongside a kid going through puberty, which is both magical and maddening. Her co-parent and I separated nearly 10 years ago. She says, "The process turned me inside out and fundamentally changed how I approach relationships (for the better). Deprogramming from co-dependent conditioning is my work. Doing the work has made me a better coach, parent, partner, and better advocate for myself."

Despite what western, patriarchal, puritanical, christian culture has tried to drill into us, pleasure is a much needed anecdote to the pressures and traumas of the world we have inherited. Sarah's work is centered in supporting individuals and couples find more pleasure, self-love, acceptance and liberation in their life.

Her definition of pleasure integrates the erotic, but she does not view sexual pleasure as the end all be all. If the erotic is not your main source of joy or daily satisfaction, you are not alone. For many of us, cultivating simple daily pleasures is the best way to expand the joy in our lives.

In addition to her client work, she works with the Magic Wand brand, co-hosts the feminist podcast F*ck Yeah, and volunteers her time with SIECUS - Sex Ed for Social Change. In her “me” time you can find her hiking around California, lifting heavy weights at the Y, cooking for friends and fam, chasing hot springs, and cuddling her fam and our crew of furry rescues.
