Stem Cells to Eggs Cells: fireside chat with CEO of Conception, Matt Krisilof

​Join us at Mox for a fireside chat with Matt Krisiloff, CEO of Conception, about the company’s recent milestone: generating early human egg cells from stem cells. Starting with a blood draw, Conception reprogrammed blood cells into induced pluripotent stem cells and guided them into miniature ovary-like structures containing early egg cells—an important step toward in-vitro gametogenesis.

​We'll will discuss the biology and engineering behind recreating the developmental environment an egg needs, the path from early cells to functional maturity, and the rigorous safety validation that must come before any clinical use.

​The conversation will also explore the longer-term possibilities: expanding reproductive options for people facing age-related infertility or genetic disease, reducing the burden of IVF procedures, and using reproductive biology to better understand ovarian aging and menopause.
